Baubles...

Happy Thursday,

A quicker card to share today made with the circular media plate and the Amy Design Christmas baubles.
I wanted to try out the new Pigment ink pads from Izink and see if they would work with the media plates and the answer was a big yes.  I used the silver here which has a beautiful silver shine that isn't showing on the pictures.

I added just silver to the plate and then removed areas of ink using perfect medium and the snowflakes stamp from my Winter Tress clear stamp set.  I added the snowflakes over the card using a separate media plate I had covered in the ink and night colours of the Dye ink pads.  This allowed me to get the mix of purple blue colours.  I then stamped the resist silver circle over the top adding a sentiment from the same set.

I added the baubles which cut in one strip in silver mirror card and added this down the side.

Finally some layers of silver mirror and glitter card along with white of course and finished!

Back in Stock...

Happy Wednesday,

Its the last Wednesday of the month so its my local workshop today at Crafty Corner in Breedon Priory I haven't seen the ladies for 6 weeks as last months was early and I like everyone else, have been waiting for the shaped media plates to come back in stock! Really looking forward to it!  I am planning to extend the monthly workshops next year and will be doing one in the west midlands form November monthly as well more details to follow.

I thought I would share the second card I  made using the same products as yesterday ( sorry for the snow globe Brenda, Myra et all) Especially as this background is one of the techniques we will be using in today's workshop!

I stared by making the central piece using the round media plate and the resist technique where I remover ink from the plate using stamps that's have been inked with perfect medium.  I again used the tree and snowflakes form my winter trees set and the Izink Dye inks in ultramarine, south seas and Night.

I then added this to a  die cut snow globe made with an acetate front and a shaker card back.  Hopefully you can see the glitter jewels I used in the picture.  I added the die cut deer that were left form yesterdays card.
I placed this on an embossed card (using a sneak peak from my new range of Christmas embossing folders)

I added a messy bow of white seam binding and some metallic linx finishing with a crystal snowflake from Craft Consortium.

Deers in the mist...

Happy Tuesday,

Todays card mixes die cutting and stamping and colouring a great mix of medias that manages to look, hopefully, classic and elegant.

The centre of the piece is made by using the large media plate and watercolour pens sprinted with water and stamped onto watercolour card.  I then shaded through the die cut waste of cutting the deer ( from tomorrows card) using the mini blender and the night dye ink pads from Izink. I also used my landscape mask and the night ink to add a base of hills for the deer ( I hate to see things floating!)

I made the piece up into a snow globe using the find it media snow globe die.  I added acetate on the front and some crystal stars sealing the whole piece with foam tape.  I also added an edge of snow glitter all around the globe.

The background is made in the same way as the post earlier last week using masking fluid and the Izink pearl pigment inks.  I added a bow made from ribbon coloured using the pigment inks that were leftover from the background.

Finally I added some glitter card poinsettias and some crystal stars from my stash!

Showstopper...

Happy Monday,

I spent all of yesterday prepping for my next Launch on Hochanda ( sneak peak on Facebook) so was painting, die cutting and even sewing!  Whilst doing this I was binge watching the Great British Bakeoff so hence the title of todays post!

This card is made using my classic techniques of die cutting and I have to say I love the silver and white look of this.  I stated by cutting the Ice Crystal frame in white card covered in double sided adhesive.  Once cut I added diamond snow over it to give a gentle sparkle.  I added a circle behind this cut in silver pearlised card and added a die cut deer in the centre.  I added glue to areas of the deer die cut and liberally added snow!  A few crystals finished the centrepiece.

Next I made the background by cutting the ice crystal border down the 2 sides of  a piece of pearlised silver card.  I added this to a panel again with double sided adhesive to which I added more of the snow.  Again a few crystals adds that sparkle ( which is more visible in real life!)

A few mats and layers of the white and silver finishes the card perfect, hopefully, for those special cards and people.

Simple and clean...

Happy Sunday,

I thought I would share a couple of extra cards I made for yesterdays demo using bits leftover from yesterdays card!

I simply used leftover pieces of background and added the deer die cut on one and the circle leaves stamps on the second!

Demo Snowflake...

Happy Saturday,

Today I am demonstrating my stamps, media plates and stencils tram at Domino Crafts in Wolverhampton I will also de demoing a range of Christmas Dies from Find It media.  Therefore I thought I would share a card I have made for the demo using a background made with the media plate and inks and a couple of the dies I will be demonstrating.

I made the background using the large media plate and a mix of the dye based ink pads and the liquid silver and topaz pearl pigment inks.

I then added a large snowflake in the centre cut with silver mirror card.  I added a crystal embellishment in the centre.

I then cut the border panel twice in silver mirror card and slotted the background through this to make a solid looking panel.

The dies is the Ice Crystal border (HERE) I used just one of the dies in the set but there are quite a few!

To finish I added am embossed panel ( thats a bit of a sneak peak you will have to wait until september for!) and my usual set of mats and layers!

Blue snowflakes...

Happy Friday,

A smaller and possible more opulent card today again using the media plates, stamps with a  little bit of die cutting of course!

I started by making the background using the large media plate.  I added the petrol, night and south seas dye inks to the medium plate and ran over it with my brayer.  I then used the resist technique to remove ink form the plate using the snowflake stamps from the winter trees set.  I stamped the ink removed onto the sheet of card to add depth.

Next I stamped the snowflakes onto the plate in all three of the inks to add more texture before adding more snowflakes this time in the silver pigment ink.  Finally, for this stage, I stamped the plate onto the piece of card, in my press to impress, that I had added the snowflakes to.

I then cut the panel to a 5" square and then stamped the floral circle in the centre using the silver pigment ink.  I had to look twice while typing this as at first I thought i had heat embossed it with silver but its just plain stamping!

I then cut the surrounding die cut in sliver mirror card using the find it media  die (Code YCD10067 HERE)  I added some of the holly foliage using the same set as earlier in the week.  A couple of silver pearl dots crystals, mats and layers and a small card finished!

Glitter Drama...

Happy Thursday,

I thought I would share a classic Joh  card ( as Mrs Duck would call it) today using a mix of my signature die cutting and stamping!

I stared by stamping a selection of stamps from my Winter Trees clear stamp set onto white card using a mix of the cool set of Izink dye ink pads.  I added some snowflakes over the top using the silver pigment ink.

I framed this using the Find It media snowflake frame (available HERE)  I cut the frame in silver pearl card and backed it with silver glitter card.  I then matted and layers this onto more of the silver, glitter and some mirror card in silver.

I then added a spray of festive foliage in white and poinsettias in the glitter card ( I will have these dies on my next Hochanda show on the 10th September)  I arranged these around the bottom right of the card to add focus to the sentiment adding pearls in the centres of the flowers.

Black and Silver...

Happy Wednesday,

S simple stamped card today again mixing Die cutting and stamping to make the card.

I stared by cutting, with the press cut stitch dot squares, a square of black card.  Next I stamped the floral circle form my clear stamp set using sink silver pigment ink.  I then stamped the sentiment, from the winter trees set, in the centre again using silver.

Next I matted and layered this onto silver mirror card and more black card.

I then cut the holly die from the Find It media florals set (PM10103) click code fro link.  I used silver mirror card and folded the holly along the centre lines before adding as a spray, with the berries that cut at the same time, at the edge of the wreath.

I added a layer of snowflake card form an old Die Cuts with a View (DCWV) Christmas paper stack.  I added layers of silver and black and a strip of silver sparkle ribbon from my stash.

Snowy Trees...

Happy Tuesday,

Another mix of die cutting and stamping today but a littler lighter than yesterdays but just as simple!

The background for this one is a relatively simple one however there is some drying time involved so I would make a few at a time!

To make the background I painted artists masking fluid across the bottom of a sheet of watercolour card to give a snow drift feel.  Next I added more fluid to my brush and flicked this all over the piece.  This gives snow like splashes over the surface and protects this form the inks.  You do need to give this a while to dry an hour maximum.

I then added the topaz and blue pearl pigment inks ( the ones I had on Hochanda a coupe of weeks ago) and spritzed the piece with water and using a wash brush i shaded this across the piece to give a patchy shaded look to the 'sky'.  I then waited for these to dry ( another hour).

Next I stamped, using my Press to Impress stamp platform, one of the trees from the winter trees set over the edges of the masked area.  I blotted off any excess ink then rubbed away the masking fluid across the piece.  By doing this after I stamped the first set of trees the snow seems to fall over the trees giving a more 3D look.

Finally I added a few black lines for the edges with a fine line pen and stamped some more tress in the foreground and going off the page.  2 deers die cut in black gloss card finish the piece, I love the way these appear over the background.

Winter Trees...

Happy Monday,

AS promised I am starting to share some of the Christmas cards I have made which mix die cutting along with my stamps and media plates.  Today's First card is a perfect way to use some of the backgrounds you can make with the larger media plate mixed with the stunning Christmas dies from Amy Designs.

I stared by making a background using a mix of inks and my Winter Tress stamp set on the larger media plate.  I mixed night, south seas and verbena on the plate then using perfect medium I used the resist technique with some of the snowflakes from the stamps.  there is a video on this technique on my you tube channel click HERE to see the video.

I cut this down to a 5" x 5" panel and added it to a 6" card blank with a black matt.  Next I stamped more of the snowflakes over this using the Silver pigment ink pad from the Izink range.

I cut the smaller circle and the dotted circle from the Amy Design star frame and then stamped the tree and snowflakes on this again in silver.  Finally I stamped the sentiment in black .

I cut the larger circle from the set in black and stamped silver snowflakes over this before matting it onto the mirror card cut frame.

I used the scraps of the background to cut the poinsettias which I shaped and added with silver micro beads in the centres.

Not your usual colour or style for a Christmas tree but I love the simple mixed media look to this card.

Thistles...

Happy Sunday,

I thought I would share a couple off card made with the thistle oval today  This is a small hand drawn stamp but hopefully perfect for smaller card or for building with the other stamps in the set for larger cards.

This first card is made by making a simple background using the pigment inks and the large media plate.  I then cut this into 2 pieces and stamped the thistle onto the smaller piece.  I then cut an aperture using an oval in the larger piece.  I then stamped the corner stamp on all four sides and mounted this over the stamped oval.

A simple card made very quickly.

The second card may be slightly familiar as its made from the waste from the first!  the oval I cut from the first card is stamped as the topper on this card.

The addition of a tartan ribbon and a media plate background and a second card is made!

Wot more green...

Happy Friday,

Another card in green today a colour I used to say I rarely use however the freshness just appeals and I seem to have been using it loads recently.  This card doesn't use a media plate so is quite easy on resources!

I stared by cutting card blank and then cutting a plain circle in the centre towards the top.  Next I used the Crafts Too mini blending tolls and added emerald and verbena dye based inks over the card messily to make the background.

Next I added the card to the press to impress stamp press and positioned the floral circle stamp over the 'hole' in the centre.  I inked the stamp randomly with the same two colours and stamped this around the aperture.

Finally I added the three butterflies to one side and 2 smaller ones on the other.  I inked these in the petrol ink and stamped them.  I then inked them with the emerald and moved the card slightly so that i got a shadow stamp ( far easier in the stamp press) as shown

I the  stamped the sentiment into the centre by mixing the inks again and using the stamp press i was able to stamp through the aperture ensuring I got it in the right place!
Really simple but hopefully great for inspiration!
