Happy Monday,
No today's blog has not moved into fashion the title is based on the die name and the colour of the card! I know this is an unusual combination of colours but somehow it works, to me at least.
I stared by cutting the rippled striplet down a piece of mink foundation card ( a colour I haven't used much but I will have it on Hochanda later this month) the fantastic thing about this striplet is that cut continuously it makes 2 separate border strips. I left 2 sides attached to the card and threaded satin ribbon from my stash through the slots at the side. The other 2 sides I adhered to the edges of a piece of Tan foundation card card allowing the colour to peep through the edge slots.
I built up stripes of the Tan, Milk and Mink with the central panel embossed with the honeycomb heaven A4 embossing folder and strips of the thin satin ribbon.
I then cut the Lucy Frames and Tags die set in mink backed with milk. I mounted this over a section cut with the centre dies of the Lucy set in Tan and backed with mink. I placed this at the top off the 'Stripes' and added a Chrysanthemum made with pearls of all the three colours used in the main card. I added a messy bow of the cream thin ribbon and matching gold satin ribbon and a couple of stick pins.
Finally I added a pierced tag stamped with the sentiment and mounted the card onto layers of the Mink, Milk and tan.
Enjoy...
Morning John, this is a gorgeous card and i love the colours and the font in the sentiment.

ReplyDeleteHi John, Apologies for my absence, my I pad had decided that it will only work when it feels like, very annoying. I don't get on with technology and resisted my family when they insisted I had an I pad, saying I didn't need one. Now look at me getting cross because the silly gadget doesn't work. That's old age for you. However your card today is lovely John, not too sure on the colours but it works. Love Rosemarie X
ReplyDeleteA very striking card John, great work x x x

John I say you do a card with the new paper cut die in which you did a fold card in three using the flower frame that has been taken off so could you do that card again and post to your site with directions agin on fold size
ReplyDeleteAfternoon John, sorry I am late today, been to opticians with hubby and trying to clear some space in my craft room - you wouldn't like to come round and do it for me would you, you made a real good job of your one. hehe cheeky aren't I.
